Jean-François Adelle has a practice in general and structured debt finance transactions, distressed debt restructuring and financial arrangements with a strong regulatory element. A large part of his activity has an international dimension.
His debt finance practice covers a large array of debt financing transactions in loan or bond formats, including asset based, receivable, corporate, acquisition and project finance, and cash management.
He assists his clients on structured finance transactions, supported by in-depth insight in regulatory matters: deconsolidating, risk transfer structures, derivatives, digital assets, trusts/fiducies, financial collateral, prime brokerage arrangements, receivables finance. He delivers enforceability opinions.
In addition, Jean-François assists lenders and creditors in in and out of court financial restructurings and special situations, where he is able to review lending structures toward downside protection. He has been involved in large market-place matters.
His clients, banks and other financial institutions, credit funds and large corporates, recognize the technical skills and the strategic sense of this professional with over 35 years of experience.
Jean-François is a member of the P.R.I.M.E Finance panel of experts, co-chair of the International Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee, and leads the firm’s Legal Opinions Committee. He has chaired committees of Paris Europlace which inspired legislative reforms in the field of fiducie (trust), security interests and security agent, and co-chaired the International Financing Work Stream of the ICC Financial institutions and international Arbitration Task Force. He is the author of numerous publications and a frequent speaker at financial and banking conferences.
